You may wonder, why The Decorating Chica? Good question. It resulted from a friend who is always calling me 'chica' and when I was thinking of a name for my blog that would best describe me and what I was all about, The Decorating Chica popped in my head. And the rest, as they say, is history!

This is me on Yoville.

I can remember way back to my first apartment that I started decorating. I didn't recognize it for what it was but I have always experimented with different techniques, tried out new things, and thought out of the box. Never afraid of color, I was always looking at magazines about decorating, reading books about landscaping. I love decorating so much that I even decorate virtually on Yoville!


Over the years I've helped many friends remodel and decorate their homes, landscaped their yards. Sometimes I was paid, and sometimes not. But, it is all good because I love it. My friend labeled me OCDD (Obsessive, compulsive, decorating disorder) years ago and I guess she was right. I always have to be doing something!


In the midst of all my ideas and projects I have 3 high school boys and have been married almost 23 years. My oldest will soon be going off to college and I'm struggling to wrap my mind around that! I have faithfully served God for most of my adult life and while I am certainly not perfect, I am. blessed.
