Christmas Can't Get Here Soon Enough

I don't know what it is.

There is just something weird going on.

You see, I normally LOVE the Fall and LOVE Thanksgiving.

Really. I do.

But for some reason that I can't explain I am anxious for Christmas.

It might have something to do with the fact that I've been seeing Christmas decorations in stores since June.

It might have something to do with the fact that my college son will be home for three. whole. weeks.

It might be the thrill I get when all the Christmas decorations get hauled out.

But whatever the reason. Christmas can't get here soon enough.

it's a meatloaf kind of thing

Never in a million years did I think I would do this.

Not even in a thousand.

I mean, after all, I am not a cook.

Really.

I don't like to be in the kitchen.

I don't like to clean up after the cooking mess.

I don't like to figure out what to make for dinner.

Meatloaf on the way into the oven.
The top is the ketchup/brown sugar mix.
Just spread over the top like frosting.
So why did I do it?

Why did I write a post about making meatloaf?

Maybe because I realized that, even though I don't like to cook, I really have some pretty good recipes.

For certain my boys rave about them. That is, most of the time.

Well this time, I decided to share my meatloaf recipe because, "it's a meatloaf kind of thing."

hamburger (3-4 lbs)
italian bread crumbs (can also use oats, crushed saltine crackers) (approx. 1 cup)
Dried onion
eggs (usually 2)

Mix all together and put in a glass baking pan.

Then, mix ketchup and brown sugar. No, I don't have the measurements because I don't cook that way. I just dump!

Yup, I'm a dumpy kind of cook!

But seriously, you dump in some brown sugar, add a bunch of ketchup, mix together so it makes kind of a loose past and pour over top of meatloaf.

Delicious meatloaf with a crusty topping!

Bake at 350 for about an hour until done.

The ketchup brown sugary topping thingy will be kind of crusty and sticky on top.

Are YOU HomeGoods Happy?

HomeGoods.
This pillow was one of my most recent finds.
Love how it matches the chairs in my kitchen!

Just the sound of the name makes my heart skip a beat.

I have been searching high and low for
just the right table to add in my living room.
Found the perfect fit at HomeGoods!

I know that I will always find great deals there.

And my money will go a long way.

This chair was my most recent, and most unplanned, purchase.
I saw it first on Labor Day weekend but did not have
the money. I loved it sooo much but didn't really need
another chair so I said goodbye and left it behind. Knowing
I would never see it again because I knew it would be
snatched up quick. Big surprise when I walked in a
month later. Not only did I find the chair still in the
store but marked down from $399.00 to $242.00!
Oh and the cabinet next to the chair is a HomeGoods
purchase from a year prior. They make a nice pair, huh?

And my house will make room for one more beautiful thing.

Just a few of my HomeGoods purchases in the past several months.

I hope they make you HomeGoods happy!

It's a Pumpkin Kind of Thing

Okay really, I'm done. I've done all the Fall decorating I plan to do this year.

After all, it still looks like summer outside because you see, we haven't even closed our pool yet. Yikes.

But just for the record, I couldn't resist a quick trip into Hobby Lobby.

And, I couldn't resist these cute little pumpkins.

Cause, it's a "pumpkin kind of thing."
