Those Darn Weeds

Welcome to my garden!
You know what I'm talking about. We all have them and we all hate them!

Those little (or big) pesky weeds that keep popping in all the wrong places and causing you lots of pain and heartache.

My Little Garden Angel

Garden Edging

Not much different than the weeds of life, weeds take work to keep them away. If you don't regularly weed your gardens, soon the weeds will take over and destroy the beauty of your flowers.

Garden Globe from last year

Spring Blooms
The weeds of our life are really no different. But the easy way to control those pesky weeds and keep them out of your garden? Pull them right out after a good rain. The ground is soft and moist and you can grab those pesky weeds and pull them out, roots and all!

Sometimes that is the best time to get those weeds out of our life is afte a good rain.

A Final Glimpse at a Garden Tour

Tell me it's not too late? Fall is in the air and everyone is sharing their favorite Fall crafts and decorations and it is no different around here. And I would be sharing my Fall decor if it weren't for the fact that I forgot to share the pictures from the awesome garden tour that I attend every. year.

Our local city hosts an annual garden tour as well as the town just a few miles east. They are both highlights for me every summer! I walk away with more ideas on my list and a determination to do more. More garden space. More plantings. More garden decor. More DIY in the yard.

It never ends! Here are some highlights:

Love the shape of this! Curved landscape lines just add so much floww!

VERY cool man made waterfall/pond!

Garden Tool Shed

This homeowner's garden took the grand prize. Loved the little shed!

Simple basket hanging on a gate, how cute?

Small bench and display area.

Love the lanterns and tools!

Very unique hanging fixture!

Don't you just love this serene view on the other side of the pond?

Hope you enjoyed this last look at summer!

Yup, someday

Do you ever have all these things stored away for those 'some day' projects? Yup, me too. They collect on my long list of things I want to do but never seem to have the time to do them list. You know the one I'm sure.

Now that the summer is half gone and we have settled into somewhat of a summer routine, I have been tackling some of those 'some day' projects.

Once upon a time she was a beautiful ornamental globe that graced my garden.
Her days of splendor gone, it was time for a new look.

It is such a feeling of accomplishment, especially when all those 'some day' projects that are in your head actually end up working and bringing together something new and cool!

Pile of busted glass and plates that I found in my father in law's basement.
Not sure whose they were or were they came from but they were cool. |
And they were old.
When I started revamping this old girl, I wasn't sure what to do. Then I remembered the bag of busted plates that I saved from my father in law's estate sale! Didn't know what to do with them at the time but they were too cool to pass up and ended up on my 'some day' list of things.

A little spray paint from my paint shelf, glued on the glass, added some grout left over from our dining room floor project and she has a whole new life! All it cost was a tube of adhesive for 2.99!
