One Man's Garbage...

I have a confession. I'm a garbage picker. There I said it and I feel so much better now.

This is what it looked like in its original state and the way I found it on the curb.

In fact, I even have a friend who pick garbage for me...in her pajamas! Now that is friendship. But I have found some amazing things in the garbage and you know the saying "one man's garbage is another man's treasure."

This is what it looks like today after a simple fix, some chalk paint and wax, and a quick upholstery.

Sharing my treasure with you today.

Close up of the finish.

So be honest, are you a garbage picker or are you too embarassed to admit it?

Found the two adorable pillows at a consignment shop for 8.99 ea. What a steal and they match my kitchen chairs!

  3. Great job, love the color. Yup I'm a serial roadside rescuer as well! Can't believe the stuff some people throw away.

  5. Featuring on Trash 2 Treasure tonight! Simply beautiful. And yes, I freely admit to being a garbage picker. Some of my best stuff has come from the trash on the curb!! :)

  8. I have been known to swoop up a wobbly chair on the side of the road once or twice. I usually pick up stuff at thrift stores, which is just someone else's discard, but it's not free ;) You did an awesome job with the bench. I can't believe someone threw it out. Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great week!
    Blessings, Deborah
